The Bordeaux 60 from Hong Kong to the Hainan Rendez Vous CNB Yachts
end of March to commission and deliver the Bordeaux
60 # 23 Airness, which had just been unloaded from
a cargo ship. The boat was immediately prepared
for a 380 nautical mile cruise across to Hainan, to be
exhibited at the famous Hainan Rendez Vous luxury show.
A rather unpleasant China Sea with a powerful swell
and a northerly 30 to 40 knots wind welcomed
the crew, who took advantage of these rather
rough conditions to enjoy an average speed of
12 knots and surfs at 17 knots on the second day.
Being the largest sailing yacht exhibited in Hainan, the
Bordeaux 60 drew a lot of attention from the public
and the media, and both were offered the possibility
to test the boat under sail during the whole show.
At the same time, the CNB Superyachts stand was
displaying various models and projects of both
sail and motor yachts, and the staff had a hard
time explaining to visitors that the Bordeaux
60 is the smallest sailing yacht built by CNB !
